Green Day-Inspired Comedy Movie in the Works From Live Nation Productions (EXCLUSIVE)

A humor-filled film, co-created with Green Day, is currently under production by Live Nation Productions.

Entitled “New Year’s Rev,” the movie follows the tale of three companions – portrayed by Mason Thames, Kylr Coffman, and Ryan Foust – as they make their way to Los Angeles under the misconception that their band is scheduled to perform alongside Green Day on New Year’s Eve.

According to the plot summary, their journey across the nation is an unruly and playful road trip, inspired by the escapades of Green Day during their years spent traveling in a tour bus, filled with exciting experiences.

The movie, penned and helmed by Lee Kirk, features actresses Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey from “The Office”, along with Ignacia Diaz-Silverado and Keen Ruffalo. Currently, the filming is happening in Oklahoma.

Green Day’s frontman Billie Joe Armstrong expressed, ‘Days ruled for us. We’d drive through the night without rest to perform for just ten kids in an obscure location, a friend of a friend’s basement, far from any familiar place.’ Yet, we’d do it all over again tomorrow and the next day. The show titled ‘New Year’s Rev’ is developed by Tim Perell for Process, in collaboration with Green Day members Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tre Cool, along with Stella Bulochnikov for Pat Solitano Productions. Additionally, Ryan Kroft and Michael Rapino from Live Nation Productions, as well as Jonathan Daniel, serve as executive producers.

In the year 2024, the iconic rock trio Green Day, known for their alternative hits such as “Basket Case,” “American Idiot,” and “The Time of Your Life,” released a new album titled “Saviors.” These Californian musicians are slated to headline Coachella in April.

Live Nation Productions is the film and television division of Live Nation Entertainment. Their creative endeavors, often inspired by music, span a range of projects such as the Academy Award-winning “A Star Is Born,” “Moonage Daydream,” “Love, Lizzo” and an upcoming scripted feature film starring Anderson .Paak titled “K-Pops.
