Gravitas Ventures Picks Up ‘Adult Best Friends’ For U.S. Distribution After Tribeca Premiere (EXCLUSIVE)

Gravitas Ventures has acquired the distribution rights for Delaney Buffett’s forthcoming movie, “Adult Best Friends”, in both the United States and Canada.

Titled “Adult Best Friends,” this film debuted at last year’s Tribeca Film Festival, narrating the tale of a woman preparing to announce her upcoming marriage during a weekend getaway with her overly dependent best friend. As they navigate their 30s, their paths begin to diverge, leading to unanticipated twists and turns such as an unexpected run-in with an old classmate and a bachelor party.

Buffett collaborated on “Adult Best Friends” with her genuine long-time friend Katie Corwin. Together, they appear in the movie alongside Zachary Quinto (known for “Brilliant Minds”), Mason Gooding from “Scream”, and Cazzie David who stars in “The Umbrella Academy”.

Gravitas Ventures is excited to unveil Delaney Buffett’s ‘Adult Best Friends’ to North American viewers, according to Bill Guentzler, Gravitas’ Senior VP of Acquisitions and Operations. Originally premiered at Tribeca 2024, this delightful and amusing comedy skillfully explores the complexities of growing apart in a friendship. The captivating interaction between Buffett and Corwin is what truly makes this film stand out.

Quinto is not only involved as an executive producer, but he shares this role with Evan Arnold, Adam McCurdy, and Corwin. Meanwhile, Marie Nikolova and Buffett serve as producers for Coffin Watson and Before The Door Pictures.

As a cinephile, I’ve always been impressed by Gravitas Ventures – a trailblazing distribution company that specializes in independent films. Established back in 2006, they’ve been responsible for unleashing cinematic gems such as “The Mandela Effect,” “The Mousetrap,” “Dave Made a Maze,” “The King’s Daughter,” “Deep Fear,” “Downwind,” “Vanguard,” and the heartwarming documentary “For the Love of Spock” onto our screens.
