After some negative reactions from fans, Cygames tried to explain how they plan to use AI, hoping to ease concerns about its impact on their games. The situation began on January 9th when Cygames announced the creation of Cygames AI Studio on their Japanese website. The studio will focus on building and researching its own artificial intelligence models, and will also offer AI services to others, leveraging Cygames’ experience in game development.
Artificial intelligence, especially tools that create new content, is causing a lot of debate in the video game world right now. Games such as Arc Raiders and the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 have received negative reactions from players due to their use of AI, and almost any announcement about AI in gaming tends to upset fans.
