Ghostface Alum Scott Foley Gushes Over Returning For Scream 7 (Even Though He’s Clueless About The Movie)

Horror movies continue to be incredibly popular, and that doesn’t seem to be changing. Many classic horror franchises are getting new sequels, like the latest Scream movie, which you can watch with a Paramount+ subscription. The seventh Scream film is especially exciting because it brings back familiar characters. Scott Foley, who’s reprising his role as Roman Bridger, recently shared his enthusiasm, though he admits he doesn’t fully know what’s going on in the story!

Details about Scream 7 are still scarce, and that uncertainty seems to be shared by some of the actors involved. Fans are excited about Neve Campbell returning as Sidney, but many are wondering how characters who previously died will reappear. In a recent interview with Us Weekly, actor Skeet Ulrich discussed his return to the Scream series, explaining:

My character, Roman Bridger, had a pretty abrupt death, which was fitting. But I was really surprised and excited when director Kevin Williamson – someone I’ve known from my days on Dawson’s Creek and Scream – called and asked me to return. I always loved working with the team, and it was wonderful to see Neve Campbell and David Arquette again. It was a really fun experience.

I’m really eager for Scream 7 to come out! It sounds like Patrick Dempsey is excited to be back in the Scream universe after a long absence, last appearing in Scream 3. His character, Roman, was unique because he acted alone as Ghostface—all the other killers had accomplices. Plus, he originally set the events of the first film in motion by influencing Billy and Stu to go after Sidney, and he’s actually Sidney’s half-brother, which probably explains his mysterious return in the next movie.

Paramount+ offers streaming plans starting at $7.99 per month or $59.99 per year. You can currently stream the three newest Scream movies on the platform. While Paramount+ has both an Essential plan at $7.99/month and an ad-free Premium plan for $12.99/month, an annual subscription is the most cost-effective way to enjoy all your favorite shows and movies. Courteney Cox is excited to be working again with Neve Campbell, Kevin Williamson, and David Arquette. Although her character, Dewey, died in the 2022 film Scream, and couldn’t be in Scream VI, the upcoming Scream 7 will bring back several previously deceased characters, allowing Arquette to reprise his role in a surprising way.

During the same interview, the former Grey’s Anatomy star was asked about the movie‘s overall plot, but he admitted he doesn’t really know what to expect. He explained it by saying:

I didn’t get a chance to read the script beforehand, so I went into the project without knowing what to expect. They just told me what they wanted me to do, and I did it.

Marvel is famous for keeping secrets, but the Scream franchise is just as careful. Even the original Scream movie went to great lengths to avoid spoilers, and that was before the days of widespread internet and social media. So it’s not really surprising that Mick Foley didn’t receive a script for the latest film. Fortunately, we’re starting to get some answers soon.

We’ll find out everything about Scream 7 when it comes out in theaters on February 27th, 2026. Let’s hope we get a trailer or some sneak peeks before then to tide us over!
