Sapporo has designed unique beer packaging for Ghost of Yotei in anticipation of the game’s release.
Now, throughout the United States, you’ll find updated packaging for popular Sapporo varieties of cans and bottles, available immediately. While the beer inside remains unchanged, the new packaging has been specifically designed to promote an upcoming game. These packages come equipped with a QR code that players can scan to gain an in-game reward when Ghost of Yotei launches on October 2 for PS5.
The in-game prize is called “The Charm of Hokkyokusei,” which displays Sapporo’s iconic star logo that represents the North Star. This name is derived from the Japanese term for the North Star, a reference to Sapporo’s history where their first brewmaster supposedly journeyed to Germany following the North Star to learn brewing techniques. In this game, activating the charm offers players a small possibility of not depleting ammo for ranged weapons when they are equipped, as per the recent announcement.
Zach Keeling, the boss of Sapporo, shared that both the founder of Sapporo’s brewery and the protagonist from Ghost of Yotei exhibit elements of rebellion, exploration, and creativity as they reshape their destinies. These captivating tales serve to link us with Japan’s rich past, and through this collaboration, we aim to share these stories and foster a deeper connection between fans and Japan.
In simpler terms, last year we shared a humorous reference to the “Yōtei Six Pack,” and now, a year later, everything has fallen into place, creating a wonderful collaboration. We are overjoyed about how things have turned out!

As a passionate gamer speaking about my experience with the talented Sucker Punch crew, I can share that during our scouting visits to Japan, we found ourselves unwinding after long days by savoring a few cold and invigorating bottles of Sapporo beer.
In an excited post on social media, I expressed our amusing reference to the “Yotei Six Pack.” To my delight, a year later, we’ve found the ideal collaboration! Couldn’t be happier that everything fell into place.
In other updates, the creators behind Ghost of Yotei expressed their contentment upon the delay of GTA 6 to 2026 and hinted that the game could feature multiple playable characters. Additionally, it has been announced that Ghost of Yotei will showcase Atsu’s backside in the upcoming release.
