At last, the eagerly anticipated expansion pack for Lies of P, titled “Overture,” has officially been unveiled. Here’s what we currently understand about this prologue:
1. The game is set before the events of the original title, providing a deeper look into the backstory of our protagonist, P.
2. Overture will be a prequel chapter, offering players an opportunity to delve further into the world of Lies of P and uncover its mysteries.
3. The gameplay mechanics are expected to remain similar to the original title, with a focus on survival, exploration, and puzzle-solving.
4. Overture is currently in development by Neowiz and Round8 Studio, with no release date confirmed as of yet. However, updates on its progress are expected to be shared in the coming months.
Neowiz Games’ Lies of P is undeniably one of the top Soulslike games we’ve encountered, and this viewpoint is echoed by numerous players who’ve experienced it. Our four-star review highlighted the game’s innovative adaptation of FromSoftware’s cherished action RPG design.
The game offers an authentic experience that closely resembles wandering through one of FromSoftware’s atmospheric fantasy landscapes without actually playing one of their games. Given this, enthusiasts of the genre have been anxiously looking forward to an expansion ever since a job posting indicated its development.
At last, the anticipated expansion has arrived! It’s the Lies of P: Overture DLC, and here are all the details we have so far about this next part of Krat’s story.

Trailers
During the State of Play in February 2025, the enticing trailer debuted for The Lies of P: Overture DLC, offering a sneak peek at the thrilling and mysterious winter journey awaiting players as they revisit Krat.
Story
Following the initial unveiling, Director Choi Ji-Won provided details in a PlayStation Blog post about the content of the Lies of P: Overture DLC. One intriguing aspect is that this expansion serves as a prelude to the main game.
Choi encourages players to transcend temporal boundaries, embarking on a voyage that ultimately leads to the chaotic puppet uprising in Krat, awakening character P in the same train car from the main game. The intention behind this DLC is not to enhance the experience of Lies of P but rather to bring it to a satisfying conclusion.
In Choi’s explanation, he mentioned that there’s a term in movie production called “director’s cut,” which is different from the original theatrical release and typically features extra footage that the filmmaker thinks enhances the work. With regards to Lies of P: Overture, it made him wonder if we, unintentionally, were trying to produce a “developer’s cut” for Lies of P.
In the storyline of the DLC, your character (P) will be treading on the path taken by The Legendary Stalker, a significant figure hinted at in the main game’s folklore. Players can anticipate that Lies Of P: Overture might clear up some lingering mysteries and perhaps introduce new ones.

The trailer also provided valuable information about the storyline of the DLC, and it showcased numerous innovative gameplay aspects that are expected to be included. Although the fundamental nature of combat may stay mostly the same, the demonstrated fresh features could significantly alter the experience.
In the trailer for P’s Lies, we saw an innovative Legion Arm equipped with a shotgun accessory, along with fresh Fable Arts that appear incredibly powerful. These additions could provide intriguing opportunities to enhance the original game’s build options.
Additionally, the trailer displayed an array of fresh weapon types that can be combined within the game’s distinctive creation mechanism. This variety is expected to aid players in tackling the DLC’s formidable bosses, while also altering strategies for those they’ve encountered before.
Here’s what we currently know about Lies of P: Overture DLC, but there will likely be additional information unveiled prior to its launch. To stay updated on other upcoming games, explore our comprehensive guides on Saros and Onimusha: Way of the Sword.
