Genshin Impact devs reveal new game “Varsapura” with huge gameplay demo

HoYoverse revealed its upcoming game, Varsapura, with a lengthy 31-minute gameplay demonstration. The demo suggests the game will have a noticeably darker tone than the studio’s previous work.

On November 20th, the creators of Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail revealed a first glimpse of their new project, Varsapura. This game differs from their previous titles, which are set in colorful fantasy worlds. Varsapura is set in a modern city where mysterious and dangerous creatures have begun to emerge, causing trouble.

As part of SEAL, the Shadow Emergency Alliance, your mission is to investigate and fix strange occurrences called “Cognosea disruptions” and destroy the hidden forces endangering people.

Although we don’t know much about Varsapura yet, the gameplay video shows us what the game is about, who the characters are, and how exciting the fights look.

HoYo announces new game with 31-minute gameplay trailer

The gameplay trailer shows the main character sneaking through a dark building, quietly taking down enemies. They use a mix of close-combat fighting and psychic powers.

Battles are quick and visually impressive. Players control three characters and can seamlessly switch between them to create powerful attack combinations, a feature seen in games like Genshin Impact and Zenless Zone Zero. Each character has a special, devastating ultimate ability – the main character, for example, uses her umbrella to launch long-range, high-damage attacks.

The game also features driving sections where players can race through a detailed city, dodging traffic and people. Although it’s not yet confirmed if the game world will be fully open, adding vehicles hints that the environments are large enough to support this feature.

HoYoverse hasn’t announced when or on what platforms the game will be released, but they are currently hiring people to work on it, including positions like Battle Strategist and Copywriter. You can watch the full demo video above, and stay tuned to TopMob for more updates.
