As a long-time fan of General Hospital, I must admit I was taken aback by Chad Duell‘s decision to leave the show. Having played Michael Corinthos for over a decade, he has become an integral part of the soap opera’s fabric, and his departure feels like a piece of that fabric is being torn away.
Chad Duell, the actor portraying Michael Corinthos on “General Hospital” since 2010, will no longer be a part of the ABC daytime series.
On Saturday, Duell shared the news on Instagram that he is leaving ‘General Hospital’ after years of being a part of it. Making this decision wasn’t easy for him, but it feels right for him at this stage in his life. He is deeply thankful to Frank Valentini, the cast, crew, and everyone working behind the scenes who have been like family to him during this incredible journey.
In his closing remarks, Duell expressed gratitude to his fans. He said, “From deep within my heart, thank you for standing by me unconditionally and allowing Michael Corinthos to be a part of your journey.” He added that their love and motivation have been priceless to him. This isn’t goodbye, he emphasized, but rather, ‘I’ll see you again soon.’
