Gearbox Has Heard Your Borderlands 4 Complaints, Is “Exploring” FOV Slider Options On Console

Borderlands 4 is facing some early challenges. Although the game has attracted a good number of players, reviews on Steam have been mixed, mostly because of technical problems. Players on both PC and consoles are requesting a feature to adjust the field of view, and a recent tweet suggests this option might be added soon.

Randy Pitchford, CEO of Gearbox, recently asked console players on X (formerly Twitter) if they wanted a field of view (FOV) setting in their games. He hinted that changing the FOV *could* create an unfair advantage, but wouldn’t elaborate. However, the poll overwhelmingly favored adding a FOV slider – the most popular response was a strong demand for it! Shortly after, the official Borderlands X account shared that the developers are now considering adding the feature as an option.

Hey Vault Hunters! We’ve seen your requests for Field of View (FOV) sliders on consoles. The team is now looking into adding them to the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 versions of the game. We’ll keep listening to your feedback and use it to improve your experience with future updates. Thanks for all your support!

While not a direct confirmation, it definitely appears probable. A quick look at the Borderlands subreddit reveals a lot of players requesting field-of-view adjustments for console versions, making it a difficult request to overlook.
