The upcoming erotic thriller titled “Night Stage,” a production of Filipe Matzembacher and Marcio Reolon from Brazil, has been purchased by Salzgeber, a German distributor. This means the movie will be screened in both Germany and Austria. Next week, it will make its world debut at the Panorama sidebar during Berlinale.

Ever since the debut of filmmakers Filipe Matzembacher and Marcio Reolon’s first feature ‘Seashore,’ which premiered at the Berlinale in 2015, we at Salzgeber have closely watched their careers. We were the ones who brought their miniseries ‘The Nest’ to Germany back in 2017. Now, we’re thrilled to add ‘Night Stage’ to our lineup – a daring and captivating drama encompassing love, sex, stage performances, and politics, that fearlessly pushes boundaries and exceeds expectations.

This fall, Salzgeber intends to debut the movie titled ‘Night Stage’ in cinemas. It will be presented alongside other upcoming films such as “Misericordia” directed by Alain Guiraudie, “Baby,” helmed by Marcelo Caetano (also managed by M-Appeal), and “Viet and Nam” directed by Trương Minh Quý.

During ‘Night Stage,'” we follow the story of an aspiring actor and a prominent politician who embark on a clandestine relationship. As their passion deepens, they uncover a shared fascination for intimate moments in public settings. The closer they come to realizing their dream of notoriety, the stronger becomes their desire to take risks, adding a thrilling edge to their lives.

The cast is led by Gabriel Faryas, Henrique Barreira and Cirillo Luna.

In the year 2018, the film “Hard Paint” by Matzenbacher and Reolon, which had its premiere at Berlinale Panorama, was honored with the prestigious Teddy Award. Subsequently, it became a resounding success in various film festivals.
