Gampressure has new features. Check out our AI-powered Steam review summaries and OpenCritic ratings

There’s no denying that AI-generated content has its pros and cons – it’s a fact. At times, the quality may not be top-notch, and the outcomes might seem somewhat routine. However, when utilized effectively, it can significantly reduce workload and still generate valuable content. That’s why we at Gamepressure are thrilled to introduce something fresh: an AI-generated summary of Steam reviews.

AI at work. How we’re using it to summarize Steam reviews

Back in December 2024, I was thrilled to be part of the team that unveiled an upgraded version of gamepressure.com! Today, I’m excited to share some of the cool new features we introduced with this update. One significant improvement is the integration of OpenCritic ratings into our game database, which makes it a breeze to compare reviews from various media outlets and see how games are being received overall.

What truly piques our interest is the summary of Steam user reviews generated by AI. It’s important to remember that player feedback can often vary significantly from professional ratings, as seen in the rating sections of games like Starfield and Star Wars Jedi Survivor. This comparison offers a unique perspective on these opinions.

This system compiles concise, valuable summaries about games, such as this one for Dragon Age: Vailguard. It sifts out biased reviews and low-quality feedback to maintain accuracy, focusing on those written in English. The challenge lay in discarding irrelevant opinions without sacrificing the meaningful ones.

The summary is adjusted according to two aspects: when a game is released and how popular it is. If a game has just been launched, updates might occur multiple times per day within the first week. For highly popular games, the summary remains current even beyond the initial release.
