Okay, so Soulja Boy dropped a new handheld console, and honestly, people are not happy. It looks a lot like something that’s already out there, and everyone’s saying it’s basically a copy. It’s causing a lot of drama in the gaming community right now.
I remember back in December 2018 when Soulja Boy, the guy behind ‘Crank Dat,’ really surprised everyone! He started selling his own customized gaming consoles – basically, handheld devices that let you play a bunch of older games. It wasn’t a totally new thing, you could already find similar ones on sites like AliExpress and Amazon, but it was wild to see him putting his own spin on it and getting so much attention for it.
Soulja Boy’s game consoles were promoted as having 3,000 games already installed, featuring titles from popular systems like the Nintendo Switch, 3DS, and PlayStation Vita, along with older games and titles made specifically for the console, called ‘SouljaGames.’
It’s no surprise the business quickly failed. His website advertising the consoles was taken down soon after, and people suspect Nintendo or other game companies took legal action against him.

Soulja Boy has tried to launch a gaming console several times over the years, but things have been quiet… until recently.
Soulja Boy accused of copying yet another gaming console
In November 2025, seven years after his initial release, the rapper announced he was selling a new handheld gaming device.
The new ‘SouljaGame Flip’ console is marketed towards gamers who want powerful performance while traveling. It promises a wide range of both classic and new games for a truly exceptional gaming experience.
Soulja Boy promoted the product himself in an Instagram video, stating it can even connect to apps like TikTok.

Originally costing a steep $436, it’s now available for $200. However, experts are advising people to consider other options.
People who enjoy emulation consoles quickly pointed out that the SouljaGame Flip looked almost identical to the Retroid Pocket Flip 2, a handheld console made by Retroid. It even seems Soulja Boy’s website is using the same product image as Retroid.

Once they noticed the resemblance between the two devices, Retroid publicly stated to the gaming news site Retrodo that their handheld console isn’t connected to Soulja Boy’s in any way.
The Retroid team stated they were unaware of this situation and confirmed it’s not an official partnership. They emphasized that they haven’t given anyone permission to modify their products and sell them under a different brand. They also clarified that the Retroid Pocket Flip 2 is protected by a U.S. patent owned by Retroid.
After the report surfaced, the price of the SouljaGame Flip dropped from $436 to $200, but Soulja Boy and his team haven’t made any further comments or changes.
Soulja Boy’s website isn’t just selling one questionable product. It also features smart glasses that look a lot like the Ray-Ban Meta Smart AI glasses, and they’re priced at $64.
