Wow, The Game Awards were insane for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 – we snagged nine trophies! It’s been a wild year for the team at Sandfall Interactive, that’s for sure. To show their thanks, they finally dropped that update they’d been teasing, packed with a ton of new stuff to do in the game. They also posted a sweet message of gratitude on X, which was cool to see.
Last night’s Game Awards were incredible! We’re still celebrating and wanted to share our gratitude with all of you. You’ve truly made a difference to us.
What’s new in the Thank You Update?
This update introduces a new location – the hideout of young Verso. As shown in the trailer, it’s a vibrant and colorful place full of rainbows, balloons, and sweets. Keep in mind this area is quite difficult, and only accessible in the late game.
If you’re looking for a tougher test, Sandfall Interactive has added new boss battles to the Endless Tower. You’ll face stronger versions of enemies from the main game, but don’t worry – there are also new Luminas and weapons to help you win!
If you enjoyed the music from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, you’ll be happy to hear that Lorien Testard has created several new songs for the latest update. The full album, around 20 minutes long, is now available to listen to on YouTube.
Besides the new features, the update also introduces several additional functions, such as:
- a photo mode with lots of options, accessible at any time from the pause menu;
- the ability to create up to 50 Lumina sets to quickly switch between them before battles;
- a “leave battle” button, available from the pause menu;
- support for FSR 4;
- new filters for Lumina and Pikto, as well as an improved user interface.
You can now play Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. It’s currently discounted on Steam for $39.99 if you’re looking to pick it up.
