Fusion Entertainment Signs Documentary Filmmaker and ‘The Easy Kind’ Director Katy Chevigny (EXCLUSIVE)

As an avid follower of the film industry, I find myself consistently impressed and inspired by the remarkable journey of Katy Chevigny. Her career, marked by an impressive array of documentary features and series, is a testament to her unwavering passion for storytelling and her keen eye for capturing truth in the most compelling ways.

Fusion Entertainment recently took Katy Chevigny, an experienced documentary director, under their management following the global debut of her maiden narrative film, “The Easy Kind,” at the prestigious Telluride Film Festival.

As a passionate movie reviewer, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the incredible work of filmmaker Diane Chevigny throughout my career. A pioneering figure in the documentary realm, she is the co-founder of Big Mouth Productions, an independent production company that has been running successfully for years.

Chevigny joins as the newest member at Fusion Entertainment, a firm specializing in management and strategic consulting, established by Adam Kersh and Chris Evans. Notable filmmakers like Amy Seimetz (“The Girlfriend Experience”), Sean Baker (“Anora”), and Ira Sachs (“Passages”) are also represented by this company.

“Easy Living” introduces country artist Elizabeth Cook in a fictitious portrayal of herself, a musician grappling with the challenges of maturity amidst an industry that has yet to wholeheartedly acknowledge her abilities, as she continues to chase her dreams.

As a passionate movie enthusiast, I must say that IndieWire’s accolades for the Telluride-born film resonated with me deeply. The documentary vibe, masterfully woven by Chevigny, gives an authenticity that truly makes it feel like we’re witnessing something genuine and unadulterated on screen.

In the year 2015, while residing in Nashville, Chevigny developed an interest in Cook after witnessing her performances at a weekly gig at a local tavern. Together, they collaborated to mold Cook’s character for the series “The Easy Kind.” The ensemble also features Susie Essman, David Letterman, Karen Allen, Charles Esten, and Catherine Curtin, who are all represented by Fusion.
