Frostpunk 2 has been out for over a year, but its creators, 11 bit studios, are still actively supporting the game. They recently announced the first big expansion, called Fractured Utopias, which will be released on December 8th.

The upcoming update will add some exciting new features. It will focus on factions and how they shape the development of the city.
- The factions will play a much larger role in the gameplay. At the start of the game, you will choose one of the eight available factions. Each will offer specific bonuses and a unique skill tree. The decision you make will therefore impact the overall city.
- Of course, there’ll be some new buildings too. The list includes unique residential districts characteristic of each faction.
- Moreover, we will get two new stories – “Doomsayers” and “Plague” – as well as an additional map.
If you’re excited about the new DLC, you can try it out early! The developers are running closed tests, and you can register to participate. But don’t wait – sign-ups are only open until November 3rd.
The DLC, Fractured Utopias, will be released on PC (through Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG), as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The price hasn’t been announced yet.
