Frosthaven’s major Early Access content update “Awakening Protocol” is now available

Arc Games and Snapshot Games have released the first update for the early access version of their dark fantasy tactical RPG, Frosthaven. Called ‘Awakening Protocol,’ the update introduces a new storyline called ‘Unfettered,’ along with three new playable heroes and other improvements.

Arc Games has revealed the plan for releasing Frosthaven in Early Access, including expected updates in January, April, and July of 2026. They detailed what players can anticipate during this early access period.

Frosthaven is now available in early access for PC (Steam, Epic).

This free update is now available on PC for players who own the digital version of the popular tactical RPG board game, created by Isaac Childres and Cephalofair Games. Awakening Protocol adds a new story arc centered around the enigmatic Unfettered machine race, along with three new playable characters, extra bosses and quests, and several improvements to make gameplay smoother.

  •  8 Building Upgrades: Enhance and build up Frosthaven even further.

  •  Job Postings: Complete new side quests from the Town Hall and increase your party’s capabilities.
