Freedom Wars Remastered gets its first patch to fix crashing and performance issues

The remastered version of Freedom Wars, launched recently on PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam, has received its initial update to rectify some platform-related crashing and performance problems.

As a gamer, I’m thrilled to share that our latest update is now live on every platform! This update comes with some crucial fixes tailored to specific scenarios where the game might have crashed before. For Nintendo Switch users, there’s a special fix for those pesky crashes when using the A-4 accessory voice in Japanese voice mode. Lastly, and most importantly for Windows 11 gamers like myself who installed the 24H2 update, this new version addresses performance issues and game freezing that we were experiencing previously. Let’s get back to gaming!

globally, Freedom Wars Remastered has been released; you can find James’ complete review right here, while I share my thoughts on the Steam Deck over there.

Nintendo Switch

  • The game crashing when you choose Accessory voice “A-4” when in JP voice mode.

Steam:

  • Frame rate drops or game freezes when using Windows 11 version “24H2”
  • The game stuck on loading screen after launching the game.
  • The game not saving properly, resulting in progress rewind.

*Attention to Steam users:

To ensure a smooth application of the update for your game, it’s important to restore the modified files back to their original state before running the update. The reason is that the update might not function correctly with any changes you’ve made. If problems persist after updating, attempt uninstalling and re-installing the game as a troubleshooting step.
