As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the roster of characters and system requirements for FragPunk have certainly piqued my interest! With a background in PC gaming spanning from the days of DOS to the modern era of GPU-powered marvels, I can confidently affirm that the recommended specifications are more than adequate to deliver an immersive experience.

That being said, I’m not entirely convinced that my aging rig will be able to handle the latest and greatest hardware requirements. Perhaps it’s time for a well-deserved upgrade! But hey, who needs the latest tech when you’ve got the skills of a seasoned gamer, right?

Oh, and let me share a little joke I heard from a fellow gamer: “Why don’t we ever play hide and seek with my computer? Because good luck hiding when it always knows where I am!”

Until FragPunk is ready to grace our screens, I’ll be keeping myself entertained with the best multiplayer games on Game Pass and the top picks of 2024. If you’re looking for a new game to try, give them a spin – you might just find your next favorite!

FragPunk, set to release soon, flips the traditional hero shooter genre on its head by incorporating innovative mechanics that alter the game dramatically with each fresh round.

Following our experience with its closed beta, we commended it for taking a unique approach, stating that “it boasts everything needed to stand toe-to-toe with the elite in its category.

As a longtime fan of first-person shooter (FPS) games, I can hardly contain my excitement about the upcoming release of the new FPS from NetEase and Bad Guitar Studio! Having followed this game since its announcement at last year’s Game Awards, I have eagerly awaited any updates on its development. Finally, we have a confirmed release date beyond 2024, and I can barely wait to get my hands on it!

From the tantalizing glimpses of gameplay that have been released so far, it’s clear that this game is going to be something truly special. The developers have managed to create a unique and immersive world that promises to challenge even the most seasoned FPS players. With stunning graphics, innovative mechanics, and a rich and engaging storyline, I have no doubt that this game will quickly become a staple of the genre.

But what really sets this game apart for me is its characters. Each character has their own distinct personality, motivations, and backstory, which makes them feel alive and believable. I’m particularly drawn to one character in particular – a mysterious figure who seems to have a secret connection to the game’s world. I can’t wait to uncover the truth about this character and see how they fit into the larger narrative of the game.

Overall, I believe that this new FPS from NetEase and Bad Guitar Studio is going to be a must-play for any fan of the genre. With its release date finally set, I’ll be counting down the days until I can immerse myself in this exciting new world and uncover all of its secrets. If you’re an FPS fan like me, I highly recommend keeping an eye on this game – it’s going to be a true masterpiece!

FragPunk release date

FragPunk releases on March 6, 2025

Back in June 2024, I got incredibly excited when the game was first unveiled at the Xbox Summer Games Showcase. A few weeks later, I was fortunate enough to be part of a small group for the closed alpha test in late June. Fast forward to October, and I was back for another round, this time as part of the closed beta testers. To top it off, at the Game Awards in December, they officially confirmed that the game would be released in March 2025. Needless to say, I can hardly wait!

What is FragPunk?

FragPunk is a team-based (5 versus 5), first-person action game reminiscent of Marvel Rivals, Overwatch, CS2, and Valorant, but it introduces an unique element: Shard Cards.

During breaks between matches, participants receive Shard Cards which introduce significant modifications to the gameplay. These cards can alter elements like weather conditions, grant double jumping capabilities to your squad, prevent adversaries from recovering health, enable your team to respawn as zombies, decrease protective cover at bomb locations, and offer numerous other game-altering effects.

The game follows a widely acclaimed attack-and-defend structure, and each playable character, or ‘Lancer’, possesses unique skills that we will outline subsequently.

less and less games are being released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, since there are only a few exceptions like Black Ops 6 and EA FIFA 25, as developers are focusing more on newer consoles.

Is it free-to-play?

Absolutely! You’ll be delighted to know that FragPunk is designed as a game you can play without spending a dime. Additionally, the developers have confirmed that all Shard Cards will be freely available at launch and later on, ensuring they won’t be hidden behind a paywall.

In a free-to-play game that continues to operate through online services, you’ll often find additional purchases like Battle Passes and cosmetic items (skins).

Does it have crossplay?

Absolutely, FragPunk supports cross-platform gameplay, which means you can effortlessly team up with friends regardless of whether they’re using Xbox, PlayStation, or a PC for their gaming sessions.
