Former President Battles Cyber Attack in Netflix’s ‘Zero Day’

Netflix has unveiled the trailer for its upcoming limited series titled “Zero Day,” starring an impressive lineup including Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, Lizzy Caplan, Connie Britton, Joan Allen, Matthew Modine and Angela Bassett. This six-episode suspenseful drama will premiere on Netflix starting February 20th.

Based on an official summary, “Zero Day” is about Robert De Niro playing George Mullen, a respected former U.S. President, who leads the Zero Day Commission in a mission to identify the culprits behind a devastating cyber attack that has wreaked havoc across the nation and claimed thousands of lives. As misinformation spreads, and self-interest from tech moguls, financial tycoons, and government officials complicate matters, Mullen’s relentless pursuit of truth compels him to confront his own hidden past, potentially jeopardizing everything he cherishes.

Additional cast members include Dan Stevens, Bill Camp, Gaby Hoffmann and Clark Gregg.

In the trailer, we see President Mitchell, portrayed by Bassett, initially tasking George Mullen, played by De Niro, to join the Zero Day team. “Congress has given the green light to a unique Zero Day commission,” Mitchell explains, “with the mission of tracking down anyone who assisted and concealed this monstrous attack.” Mullen queries, “So you’re just going to apprehend people without warrants?” To which she replies, “In fact, it will be you doing so.

In “Zero Day,” the roles of writers and executive producers are handled by co-creators Eric Newman and Noah Oppenheim, with Michael S. Schmidt joining them in this capacity. Lesli Linka Glatter serves as both an executive producer and director for all six episodes. Alongside them, Robert De Niro and Jonathan Glickman also assume the role of executive producers.
