As a longtime follower of Cody Ko, I find myself at a crossroads. After months of silence and a seemingly half-hearted acknowledgement of the situation, it feels like he’s missed the mark yet again. It’s a bit like when I tried to cook his famous “Cody Chicken” for the first time – I followed the recipe, but it just didn’t taste right.

Following several quiet months regarding Tana Mongeau’s accusations against him, Cody Ko has now addressed the matter on one of his secondary channels, but unfortunately, his handling of the discussion did not fully appease his fan base.

As a devoted follower, I must admit, it was disheartening to see Cody Ko’s initial reaction to the situation, which seemed more like a routine formal step rather than a passionate commitment, hinting at his departure from TMG studios, his podcasting, and video network.

The initial drama took place in July 2024, and now he’s briefly addressed it in a December upload. Although it was part of a larger video about fitness, with the mention being a small aside that’s easy to miss if you just quickly watched the video.

And, much like his initial response, this mention left many of his viewers feeling disappointed.

Cody Ko uploads for the first time in months

Instead of sharing content on his usual Cody Ko channel, the creator opted to post on his Cody Trains channel, creating a video primarily focused on his preparations for a marathon.

Despite the changes, he indeed conveyed a short note expressing his intent to resume content creation, understanding that some viewers might have doubts about him.

He expressed that creativity and sharing his work is deeply ingrained in him; it’s something he feels compelled to do. He acknowledged his absence from online platforms for several months, during which he didn’t produce any videos. He also understood if people’s opinions of him might have shifted over the past few months.

For much of my professional life, I’ve been known for critiquing and evaluating others on the internet. Consequently, I don’t resent your evaluation of me in the slightest. What I aim to do now and in the future is simply strive to be the finest version of myself that I can be, for my own growth and for the well-being of my family.

In essence, although he didn’t specifically tackle the issue, he indirectly recognized its existence. Yet, those who once followed Cody found his reaction unsatisfying, urging him to confront the accusations more directly.

One viewer commented that it’s rather shady to place an apology at the end of an irrelevant video on your third channel,” said a critic.

The person asked, “Why does it seem like he’s pretending that an apology has already been given and wants to proceed as if nothing happened? Could it be that he’s manipulating the situation, perhaps through gaslighting?

In a succinct but pointed statement, a fan declared, “This is truly disappointing as someone who has always supported him.” Over a period of silence, Cody saw more than 300,000 subscribers leave, with many long-time followers choosing to depart.

A former supporter asserted, “The number of people defending him right now is astonishing; even as a big Cody Ko fan, I wouldn’t dare to do it.” However, there are a few who are glad he’s returned, but praise for him is scarce.
