‘For All Mankind’ Spinoff ‘Star City’ Adds Three to Cast

The “Star City”, a spin-off from “For All Mankind”, has been expanding its main cast by welcoming three new actors as regulars.

It appears that EbMaster has found out that Solly McLeod, Agnes O’Casey, and Alice Englert are all set to join the cast of the alternative history drama. These talented individuals are known for their work in shows like “House of the Dragon,” “Tom Jones,” “The Dead Don’t Hurt,” “Black Doves,” “Ridley Road,” “Dangerous Liaisons,” “Bad Behaviour,” and “Ratched.

They will appear alongside previously announced cast members Rhys Ifans and Anna Maxwell Martin.

The series, which was initially unveiled in April 2024, as earlier mentioned, is set to narrate an alternate account of the space race similar to “For All Mankind.” However, instead of focusing on the American viewpoint, it will explore this fascinating story from the Soviet Union’s perspective.

This thrilling series delves into a suspenseful, suspicious narrative, transporting us to a pivotal point in an alternate account of the space race – the instant when the Soviet Union achieved the historic feat of putting a man on the moon. However, unlike previous portrayals, we’ll be peering through the Iron Curtain, offering glimpses into the lives of cosmonauts, engineers, and intelligence officers within the Soviet space program. We’ll also witness the dangers they braved to drive human progress forward.

McLeod takes on the role of Sasha, a daring astronaut who hasn’t quite reached his peak performance. O’Casey assumes the character of Irina, a fresh recruit from the monitoring team at Star City. Englert joins us as Anastasia, an inexperienced female cosmonaut in the Soviet Space program.

McLeod is represented by The Artists Partnership, Creative Artists Agency (CAA), The Unseen, and Bespoke Publicity. O’Casey is managed by Susannah Norris Agency, Curtis Brown, and Goodman Genow. Englert is handled by Creative Artists Agency (CAA), Hamilton Hodell, and United Management.

McLeod works with The Artists Partnership, CAA, The Unseen, and Bespoke Publicity; O’Casey collaborates with Susannah Norris Agency, Curtis Brown, and Goodman Genow; and Englert is assisted by CAA, Hamilton Hodell, and United Management.

In my perspective as a movie reviewer, I’d say that “Star City” originates from the creative minds behind “For All Mankind,” specifically Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert, and Ben Nedivi. Interestingly, it’s Wolpert and Nedivi who are steering this project as showrunners and executive producers. Moore continues his involvement with Tall Ship Productions, along with Maril Davis. Steve Oster and Andrew Chambliss also join the team as executive producers. Sony Pictures Television is the studio behind this production.
