Food influencer ‘dine and dash diva’ arrested in NYC after bill-skipping spree

A food blogger from New York City, nicknamed the “dine and dash diva,” has been arrested in Brooklyn for reportedly leaving without paying at several expensive restaurants around the city.

So, apparently this guy, Pei Chung, got arrested. He’s 34, and it sounds like he didn’t show up for court a couple of times, which led to a warrant for his arrest. Now he’s in jail on Rikers Island facing a charge for not paying for some kind of service. Honestly, it’s a bummer to hear, and kinda reminds me of those times I accidentally left my game running and racked up charges… but way more serious, obviously.

So, there’s this woman, Chung, who got pretty popular online showing off all these fancy meals she’d eat at really high-end restaurants in New York. But apparently, she started a habit of going to these places, ordering a ton of food, and then just trying to walk out without paying. That’s what the police and people who work at the restaurants are saying, anyway.

Multiple restaurants have banned a woman after she repeatedly failed to pay her bills. According to The Guardian, Chung is accused of skipping out on payments at restaurants in Williamsburg at least six times. This included two unpaid meals at Francie, a highly-rated restaurant. In one instance, she allegedly ordered a large meal – including foie gras, carpaccio, pasta, lamb, and dessert – and then tried to leave without paying.

Arrest followed after third visit to Brooklyn restaurant

I couldn’t believe it when I heard what happened! Apparently, this woman, Chung, kept going back to Mole in Brooklyn – it was her third time! The staff finally recognized her, and things went south when she ordered a bunch of food – around $150 worth – and then just refused to pay. She ended up in court and they’re holding her on $4,500 bail because she’s apparently done this at other restaurants too. It’s crazy!

Restaurant staff throughout the city were annoyed that the influencer consistently avoided repercussions for her behavior. According to a manager at Peter Luger, she “was getting away with it way too often.” The owner of Mole noted that her fame had ironically made her something of a local celebrity in New York, even with the repeated problems.

So, this gamer, Chung, was super into documenting everything she ate – like, full-on food reviews on Instagram, complete with her own portable lights for perfect pics. Apparently, she’s also in a bit of a tough spot because she’s getting evicted from her apartment in Williamsburg. And get this – the landlord is none other than Eliot Spitzer, the former governor of New York! It’s a wild story.
