Florida man ditches real estate agent and lets ChatGPT sell his house from start to finish

A homeowner in Florida successfully sold their property in just five days by using ChatGPT to handle nearly all aspects of the sale, completely bypassing the need for a traditional real estate agent.

Robert Levine, a father of three and longtime resident of Cooper City, used an AI tool to sell his home after living there for 15 years.

Levine told NBC 6 he wanted to fully test the limits of AI by using it throughout the entire process, not just for small parts. He wanted a complete, end-to-end challenge.

ChatGPT sells house on its own

The chatbot helped him plan the entire home sale, starting with packing and even suggesting which rooms to repaint to get the best price. It also created materials to promote the house, both for in-person open houses and online, and even suggested listing the home on a Tuesday and drafted a sales contract.

Levine used ChatGPT for everything involved in the sale, like setting the price and scheduling viewings. He only hired a lawyer to review the final documents to ensure they were legally sound.

Levine told NBC 6 that the property was listed on March 3rd and quickly received five offers within the first three days. They accepted an offer by Sunday morning.

“It exceeded our expectations,” he told the station.

Levine explained that using this method saved him around 3% of the home’s final sale price, which made a real difference for his family. While he thinks AI tools like ChatGPT are becoming increasingly important in real estate, he doesn’t believe they’ll completely replace agents, as each home sale is different.

He also mentioned that the more someone uses AI, the more comfortable they’ll get with it. In fact, the AI even helped him find a moving company for his upcoming move.

This positive story out of Florida stands in stark contrast to the AI mishap we reported in February, where a realtor’s altered photo unexpectedly included a frightening, monstrous figure.
