After an absence of approximately two years, the Five Nights At Freddy’s series will be back this year with its primary sequel titled Five Nights at Freddy’s: The Secret of the Mimic. In Sony’s recent State of Play presentation, the initial trailer for The Secret of the Mimic revealed the objective and the reason behind Fazbear Entertainment’s eagerness to acquire the technology. However, it seems that any employee who takes on this task could be embarking on a one-way journey.
In its initial appearance, the Mimic was introduced in the spin-off book titled “Five Nights at Freddy’s: Tales from the Pizzaplex #1: Lally’s Game.” Later on, it became one of the antagonists in the Ruin DLC of Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach. The Mimic is a prototype with the unique ability to transform and mimic any of the costume-wearing animatronic characters.
In the video we saw, it’s explained that The Mimic was created by Edwin Murray, and now he’s vanished, leaving his work for a character in the game to retrieve on behalf of Fazbear Entertainment. However, from the briefing it appears that Fazbear doesn’t anticipate anyone surviving this situation. In fact, they advise the player to sort out their personal matters before embarking on this mission, hinting at potential danger ahead.
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic will release for PlayStation 5 on June 13.
