Five Guys is bringing back its popular birthday burger offer after the initial launch caused long lines and some restaurants ran out of ingredients. They’re giving fans another chance to enjoy the deal.
I was so excited when this burger place announced their BOGO deal on February 17th – it was to celebrate their 40th birthday! But wow, it blew up! Everyone went crazy for it, and apparently, stores were getting totally swamped and running out of ingredients really quickly. It’s awesome to see them so popular, but I guess no one expected that much demand!
Five Guys admitted in a statement that they were unprepared for the large number of customers and that the recent promotion didn’t go as smoothly as they expected.
After fixing the problems from the first attempt, Five Guys is bringing back the promotion as a special “40th After Party” from March 9th to March 12th.

Order through the Five Guys website or app and get a free burger with your purchase! Just use the code FGAFTERPARTY at checkout. You can get a second burger of equal or lesser value for free, but this offer is limited to one per account and is only valid for online and app orders—it can’t be used in Five Guys restaurants.
This offer is available for four days at Five Guys restaurants in the US and Canada that are participating.
Five Guys founder Jerry Murrell said they were deeply touched by the incredible support they received for their 40th anniversary. He explained that the enthusiastic response reminded them why they’re so passionate about their work, especially after being in business for four decades.

The company says that after the first promotion, teams focused on restocking ingredients and getting stores ready for the next one.
Five Guys is giving out around $1.5 million in bonuses to its store employees as a thank you for managing the high volume of orders during the February 17th promotion.
The story of this restaurant chain began in 1986 when Jerry and Janie Murrell asked their sons to choose between college and launching a business. They opted for the business route and started with a small burger carry-out in Arlington, Virginia.
