As a lifelong fan who’s seen more Superman movies than I can count on one hand (and lost a few toes along the way), it’s a thrill to see the Man of Steel return to the world of Lego after such a long hiatus! The new Superman Mech vs. Lex Luthor set is just what my collection needed, and at $15, it’s a bargain for all the nostalgia it brings.

I remember the excitement when I first built the 2012 Superman vs. Power Armor Lex set as a kid. It was like bringing the comic books to life right in my living room. So, while I might be older now (and grayer), seeing this iconic hero back in Lego form is still a heartwarming sight.

The other new DC sets are fantastic too. Batman fans will love the Tumbler set, and who doesn’t enjoy a good Mr. Freeze battle? But for me, it’s all about Superman this time around. I can’t wait to add this set to my collection and reenact some classic battles with my own two hands!

Oh, and just between us, I think I might have found a new use for the Lego pieces – as a makeshift shield against my cat’s late-night pouncing. Because let’s face it, Superman might be invulnerable to kryptonite, but not to feline attacks!

As a lifelong fan of Superman, I can’t help but feel excited about the latest DC Lego sets. It’s been over a decade since we last had a building kit featuring the Man of Steel, and I’ve missed having him in my collection. The new set, “Superman Mech vs. Lex Luthor,” is exactly what I’ve been waiting for.

While there have been a few minifigure releases and even a keychain, it’s been too long since we’ve had a full-blown Superman building set. The last one was “Superman vs. Power Armor Lex” in 2012, and before that, the only other Superman set was a Duplo playset from 2014.

With a new Superman film hitting theaters this July, I couldn’t be happier about Clark Kent’s return to the world of Lego. It’s like he’s come full circle, and it feels like I’m reliving my childhood memories all over again. I can’t wait to get my hands on the new set and add it to my collection!

One of three fresh DC Lego releases for this month pits Superman Mech against Lex Luthor. Meanwhile, the other two collections spotlight Batman, with one introducing a compact playset based on the Batmobile Tumbler from The Dark Knight.

  • Lego DC – Superman Mech vs. Lex Luthor (120 pieces) — $15
  • Lego DC – Batman Tumbler vs. Two-Face and The Joker (429 pieces) — $60
