As a fervent movie enthusiast, I can’t help but feel my anticipation escalating for Ryan Coogler’s upcoming film, “Sinners”. After his phenomenal successes with “Black Panther” and “Creed”, it’s truly inspiring to see him delve back into an original project – a period-rich vampire movie no less! The film boasts a stellar ensemble, featuring my long-time collaborator Michael B. Jordan, alongside Hailee Steinfeld, Jack O’Connell, Miles Caton, Delroy Lindo, Wunmi Mosaku, Omar Miller, and many others. The initial trailer was gripping, but the latest one has me even more eagerly waiting for its release.
In a new role, Jordan portrays twins Elijah and Elias, who plan to leave their tumultuous pasts behind by returning to their hometown. However, the trailers hint that running away from one’s history can be difficult. To complicate matters, they encounter something darker and more ominous than they could have imagined upon their return home. Director Ryan Coogler appears to be going the extra mile in creating an authentic 1930s Jim Crow South atmosphere, focusing on the set design, costumes, and music. Yet, it also seems incredibly spine-chilling in the most thrilling way possible. I’m ready for the ride!
The movie titled “Sinners” will release on April 18th. Here’s the trailer, so tell me if you plan to watch it or not.
