FIRST GLANCE: “Jurassic World Rebirth”

Studios are stepping up their marketing efforts for their major summer movies. Yesterday, it was Disney and Marvel Studios hinting at The Fantastic Four. Today, Universal Studios unveiled the complete trailer for “Jurassic World Rebirth”, which is the seventh movie in the Jurassic Park series. The last two films brought in a lot of revenue, but they had their flaws. Fortunately, “Rebirth” offers reasons for hope, as suggested by the first trailer.

Titled “Rebirth,” this upcoming film serves as a standalone sequel to 2022’s “Jurassic World Dominion.” Set five years later, the plot unfolds as a covert operation returns to the secluded Jurassic Park island. The team, led by Duncan Kincaid (portrayed by Mahershala Ali), includes Covert Operative Zora Bennett (Scarlett Johansson) and paleontologist Henry Loomis (Jonathan Bailey). Their mission: retrieving DNA for potential medical breakthroughs. However, they discover far more than anticipated, primarily in the form of menacing, mutated dinosaurs posing significant threats.

The cast is strong and adds an element of curiosity to the movie. However, what truly piques my interest is Gareth Edwards at the helm. He has consistently delivered impressive work with his previous three films: “Godzilla” (2014), “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” (2016), and “The Creator” (2023). Given his past successes, there’s little doubt in my mind that he will deliver another knockout performance with this film as well.

As a die-hard movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that “Jurassic World: Rebirth” is storming into cinemas on July 2nd! Here’s a sneak peek at the trailer below. Will you be joining me for this dinosaur adventure or preferring to sit this one out? Let’s discuss!
