Final Fantasy 7 Remake Will Get A PS5 And PC Update When It Arrives On Switch 2

I’m so excited! Square Enix just announced that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is getting an update on January 22nd for both PC and PS5. The best part? It’s adding that super accessible easy mode they showed off for the Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S, so now the game will play pretty much the same way no matter which platform you’re on!

The official Final Fantasy VII account announced an upcoming update on X (formerly Twitter) to celebrate the game’s launch on Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S. The update includes new ‘Streamlined Progression’ options that let players customize their experience – they can choose to automatically deal maximum damage, have full HP, earn double experience points, or collect maximum Gil. Essentially, Square Enix is giving players control over how easy or challenging they want their Final Fantasy VII Remake playthrough to be.

To mark the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox, a new update will be available for the PS5 and PC versions next Thursday. This update adds Streamlined Progression, letting players maximize their HP and MP and consistently deal 9,999 damage in battles!

A playable demo for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is now available on Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S. Players can experience the entire first chapter and even continue their progress when the full game launches next week.

If you’re a Nintendo Switch 2 owner planning to play Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, you’ll need a lot of storage space – at least 90GB. That’s nearly a third of the system’s built-in memory! The game first launched on PlayStation 4 in 2020, and the Intergrade version – which includes extra story content featuring Yuffie – came to PlayStation 5 and PC in 2021.
