Final Fantasy 12’s Moogles Are Starring In Their Own Monster-Hunting Board Game

Among the distinctive settings frequently seen in the Final Fantasy series, one notable example is the realm of Ivalice, which serves as the backdrop for games such as Final Fantasy XII, Vagrant Story, and Final Fantasy Tactics. What makes Ivalice stand out from other Final Fantasy worlds is its distinctive Moogle characters, resembling rabbits, and its emphasis on monster-hunting clans. Soon, Square Enix will release an official board game that allows players to collaborate as a team of Moogle monster hunters in the world of Ivalice. Titled “Final Fantasy Moogle Bounty Mayhem”, this game is set for launch on October 22 and can be pre-ordered now at a price of $45.

Throughout its history, Final Fantasy has produced numerous board game adaptations, including titles centered around the beloved character, Chocobo, who is not just one of its main mascots. One such game is Chocobo’s Crystal Hunt, which can accommodate 3 to 5 players. In this competition, each participant aims to collect and even steal the maximum number of crystals.

Another board game spin-off is Chocobo’s Dungeon: The Board Game, inspired by the Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon video games. Players must navigate Chocobo through a treacherous labyrinth filled with monsters, where each playthrough results in a unique layout. Both of these games can be purchased from Amazon.

  • Chocobo’s Crystal Hunt — $42.80
  • Chocobo’s Dungeon: The Board Game — $80

If you’re in search of additional goods themed around Moogles, Chocobos, or even Cactuars from Final Fantasy, there will be a variety of fresh plushies and figurines coming out soon, showcasing these charming creatures!
