Elden Ring Nightreign wasn’t a game many players requested, but its unique roguelike gameplay proved popular. It received strong reviews from critics and, after a somewhat mixed initial response, now enjoys ‘Very Positive’ ratings from players on Steam, with impressive sales numbers.
The main goal of the game is to last three days and then face off against one of Nightreign’s powerful Nightlords. There are eight Nightlords you could battle, but after nearly six months, less than half of all players have defeated them all.
Elden Ring Nightreign’s Nightlords Are Still Proving Too Much For Some Players

The Nightlords in Elden Ring’s Nightreign are challenging bosses you encounter near the end of the game. They’re tougher than the enemies in Limveld and seem to be effectively blocking players from completing it.
Looking at player achievements, we discovered that less than half of Steam players beat all eight challenges within the first six months – about 48.7% did. Completion rates were even lower on PlayStation (45.9%) and Xbox (only 34.19%).
As a big fan of Nightlords, I’ve been digging into the Steam data to see which of those tricky bosses are giving players the hardest time right now. Basically, I wanted to find out which Nightlords are proving to be the biggest challenge!
- Tricephalos – 82 percent
- Gaping Jaw – 69.4 percent
- Sentient Pest – 64.7 percent
- Augur – 62.3 percent
- Equilibrious Beast – 57.3 percent
- Fissure in the Fog – 56.9 percent
- Darkdrift Knight – 56.7 percent
- Night Aspect – 52.2 percent
As expected, most players have had the most success with Tricephalos, being the first Nightlord players have to fight. Currently, 82% of players have passed the first big challenge in Nightreign. Gaping Jaw is the second easiest, cleared by 69.4% of players, followed by Sentient Pest at 64.7%. However, Night Aspect is proving to be the toughest boss, with only 52.2% of players managing to defeat it.
Players have just a few weeks to complete these tasks before FromSoftware releases the first big expansion for Elden Ring: Nightreign, called The Forsaken Hollows. This expansion will add two new playable characters, two challenging new bosses, and a new area called the Shifting Earth.
