Two actors who previously starred together on “The New York Raegan” will appear in the upcoming season of CBS’s “Boston Blue,” as seen in a new trailer. CBS will resume its 2025-2026 television season in a couple of weeks, after a break since December, bringing back all its popular scripted shows, including the Donnie Wahlberg and Sonequa Martin-Green procedural drama.
Just months after Blue Bloods concluded, CBS announced a continuation of the Reagan family story with a new series set in Boston. Following a life-changing event involving his son, Sean, Donnie Wahlberg’s character moves to Beantown and connects with the Silver family. Though the focus shifts, the iconic Reagan family from New York still plays a role in Boston Blue.
Ahead of its return to television, Boston Blue has released a new trailer. The trailer gives fans a first look at Len Cariou reprising his role as Henry Reagan. He’s the second member of the well-known New York Reagan family to appear in this spin-off series, following his daughter Erin. The clip shows him interacting with Danny and inquiring about the progress of a case involving the Silvers. You can watch the trailer below.
The tenth episode of Boston Blue, titled “Hard Truths,” will pick up the storyline from last season’s finale. Specifically, it will begin to unravel the mystery of whether Jonah was responsible for Ronan Flaherty’s death – a question the new episode is expected to answer. It’s currently unknown why Henry travels north, but it could be either because of a complicated case he’s assigned to, or because he independently discovered something and decided to investigate.
Given his life and work experience, Henry could be a valuable asset to Danny and the Sivers as they solve the case and help Jonah. It would be great if his visit also included some relaxed time with Danny and Sean after they wrap up the latest Boston Blue case, and perhaps he could share news about the rest of the family.
Good news for fans: Boston Blue has been picked up for a second season! Building on the success of Blue Bloods and featuring a strong new cast, the show is performing very well among new series on network television. This gives the writers the opportunity to bring back the character Henry again and introduce other members of the Reagan family.
Boston Blue resumes its season 1 run on February 27 on CBS.
