In a brand-new preview, Brad Pitt will be seen taking to the race track, which features in the forthcoming film “F1” – the highly anticipated motion picture about Formula One auto racing. The movie is set to hit cinemas on June 27th.
In the film, Pitt plays Sonny Hayes, an ex-Formula One driver who had a devastating crash earlier in his career. He’s persuaded to return to racing and mentor a promising newcomer, portrayed by Damson Idris, for the Apex Grand Prix competition.
Joseph Kosinski, the director of “Top Gun: Maverick” featuring Tom Cruise, worked on the movie in collaboration with producers Jerry Bruckheimer, Chad Oman, Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, and Lewis Hamilton.
Among the stellar lineup for “F1”, aside from Brad Pitt, you’ll find Javier Bardem, Idris Elba, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Kim Bodnia, Shea Wigham, Joseph Balderrama, Sarah Niles, Samson Kayo, Callie Cooke, and Layne Harper. As a movie enthusiast, I’m really looking forward to seeing this impressive cast bring their characters to life on the big screen!
Real-life Formula One racers such as Lewis Hamilton, George Russell, Max Verstappen, Sergio Pérez, Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz Jr., Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri, Fernando Alonso, Lance Stroll, Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Valtteri Bottas, Zhou Guanyu, Nico Hülkenberg, Kevin Magnussen, Daniel Ricciardo, Yuki Tsunoda, Logan Sargeant, and Alexander Albon will make guest appearances.
In 2022, Apple purchased “F1” for a reported price between $130 million and $140 million (excluding team members’ salaries). The film is scheduled to debut on Apple TV+ at a later time. Meanwhile, Warner Bros. secured the rights for theatrical release, home entertainment distribution, and digital purchase sales. Additionally, Imax will present “F1” in its expansive theater screen format.
