The recently released film ‘F1,’ featuring Brad Pitt, is the most recent big-budget production filmed in Abu Dhabi. Filming took place during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in December.
The eagerly awaited Apple Original movie, featuring Brad Pitt alongside Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia, and Samson Kayo, has concluded filming at the Yas Marina Circuit, known for hosting the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. A collaboration between Pitt and Damson Idris spent a combined 29 days filming in the emirate across three different visits, with support from local production partner Epic Films, as stated.
Filming for “F1” has been done on-site at real-life Formula 1 races such as the British Grand Prix, the endurance race at Daytona featuring sports cars (the Rolex 24), and also the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
In the film titled “F1,” directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, we see Brad Pitt playing Sonny Hayes, a former Formula 1 racer who comes back to the sport and teams up with and guides his new rookie partner, Joshua Pearce (played by Idris), in the made-up APXGP team. Javier Bardem takes on the role of the APXGP team boss.
