Expedition 33 Actor Says He’s “Truly Grateful” For Outpouring Of Support After Charlie Cox Spoke Out

Actor Charlie Cox, recently nominated for his role in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, publicly stated that the nomination should be shared with Maxence Cazoria, the actor who performed the motion capture for the role. Cazoria has now responded, saying he’s been overwhelmed with support and that Cox’s acknowledgment was very kind.

Cazoria expressed gratitude for the recent messages, especially kind words from Charlie. She shared that creating Gustave was a collaborative project and she was proud to have contributed. She finished by thanking everyone for their support and looking forward to what’s next.

Cox expressed his excitement about the nomination, but emphasized that Cazoria deserved the real praise. He explained that Cazoria’s performance was the key to the character, and he simply contributed the voice.

Along with Ben Starr and Jennifer English from Expedition 33, Cox was a nominee for Best Performance. Other nominees included Erika Ishii for Ghost of Yotei, Konatsu Kato for Silent Hill f, and Troy Baker for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

The Best Performance award recognizes more than just voice acting; it also considers work done through motion and/or performance capture. Considering this, it seems Cazoria could have qualified for the award as well.

Expedition 33 received an impressive 12 nominations this year, more than any other game – including a nomination for Game of the Year. This is the highest number of nominations any game has ever received at The Game Awards.

The Game Awards are happening on Thursday, December 11th, and we anticipate some announcements beforehand. Stay tuned to TopMob for all the updates!
