Following last year’s *Evil Dead Rise*, a new *Evil Dead* movie, titled *Evil Dead Burn*, has just wrapped up filming. It will be a standalone story within the horror franchise created by Sam Raimi.
I can’t believe it’s been over 40 years since the Deadites first showed up and started scaring the pants off of us back in 1981! Those early *Evil Dead* movies are seriously some of the greatest horror films ever made – they really redefined how scary and gory undead creatures could be.
For the last two Evil Dead films, Sam Raimi stepped back from directing, letting fresh voices bring their own style of horror to the franchise. Fede Alvarez’s 2013 reboot delivered a raw and intensely frightening take on the classic ‘cabin in the woods’ story, and Lee Cronin’s Evil Dead Rise moved the action to a city setting.
Sébastien Vaniček is the new director for the Evil Dead Rise sequel, and here’s the latest information about the film.
Does Evil Dead Burn have a release date?

Fans of the Evil Dead franchise will be excited to hear that a new movie, Evil Dead Burn, is scheduled to come out on July 24, 2026.
Who’s in Evil Dead Burn?

Souheila Yacoub will star as Alice in *Evil Dead Burn*, with Hunter Doohan (known for *Daredevil: Born Again* and *Wednesday*) and Luciane Buchanan (*The Night Agent*) playing Thya. Here’s a look at the rest of the cast:
- Tandi Wright as Susan
- George Pullar as Will
- Errol Shand as Edgar
- Maude Dauvey as Polly
- Keanu Karim as Jared
- Victory Ndukwe as Victor
The new project comes from Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, and Bruce Campbell – the actor who plays Ash Williams. However, don’t count on seeing Campbell make an appearance as Ash unless Raimi is the director, as he stated in 2023 that would be his only condition for returning to the role.
What’s the plot of Evil Dead Burn?

It’s no surprise that Warner Bros. Pictures is being very secretive about the plot of the new Evil Dead Rise sequel. Details are scarce, but we know it will definitely feature Deadites and plenty of gore – after all, it wouldn’t be an Evil Dead movie without them!
In 2024, Vaniček shared his vision for his upcoming film, telling Konbini he wanted to create a truly disturbing and impactful horror movie – one that would be a challenging experience for viewers. He explained he’d be pouring all his own fears and anxieties into the project, seeing it as a way to personally process difficult emotions.

The sickening thuds just keep going, which indicates this is going to be a brutal experience.
