The Grammys are back! This weekend in Los Angeles, music’s biggest stars will compete for the coveted awards that go on album covers. Host Trevor Noah has a lot to cover, especially after recent events like large protests and the arrest of journalist Don Lemon following a concert by rising group Katseye. Noah, who previously hosted The Daily Show, says this will be his final time hosting the Grammys, and many are hoping it will bring a new energy to his performance. If not, the show has brought in Lauryn Hill to honor music legends D’Angelo and Roberta Flack. With a strong group of nominees this year – including Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny, and Kendrick Lamar – the competition is fierce in categories like Album of the Year. The biggest question is whether Kendrick Lamar, who has already won five Grammys heading into 2025, can add even more trophies to his collection. —Craig Jenkins

Grammy pre-show seems like the only place in life where you could catch both Tasha Cobbs Leonard and Spiritbox performing.
Grammy Sunday starts with the Premiere Ceremony.
Before the main Grammy Awards show, there’s a pre-show ceremony where most of the awards – around 90% – are actually presented. It’s the only place to see winners in many different music genres honored. This year, Darren Criss is hosting, and his album Maybe Happy Ending is up for Best Theater Album. Plus, Zara Larsson is performing, and this pre-show is likely the only time you’ll see her perform during the Grammys. It’s a little unfair, but it’s a good reason to tune in at 3:30 PM Eastern Time!
