Evercade Handheld And Console Tomb Raider Bundles Are Finally Back In Stock At Amazon

After being nearly unavailable at US retailers throughout most of the year, Evercade gaming hardware is once again available on Amazon. The Evercade EXP-R handheld and VS-R home console are now offered in a bundle with the Tomb Raider I-III Collection and can be purchased individually from Amazon for $130 each. Both systems feature a charcoal gray body with turquoise accents. Due to high demand at launch last holiday season and complications from US tariffs, these bundles were hard to find and have seen a price increase of $30. Unfortunately, the popular Street Fighter and Mega Man Evercade Bartop Arcades are still out of stock, but you can pre-order the Evercade Alpha Taito Bartop Arcade ahead of its November 12 release for $260.

The Evercade is a retro gaming hardware manufactured by Blaze Entertainment that uses cartridges, and since its introduction in 2020, more than 75 Evercade cartridge collections have been launched. These include around 50 console game collections, 20 arcade game collections, and 10 home computer carts. Some of the collections are out of print, but you can buy them all through our Amazon hub at roughly the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Many of these collections feature classic 8-bit and 16-bit games, with a few exceptions like the first three Tomb Raider games and Legacy of Kain titles for N64 and PS1. Exclusive enhanced editions of retro games such as Duke Nukem 1 + 2 Remastered are also available. Other collections showcase indie games inspired by the retro era, such as Goodboy Galaxy, a GBA platformer, and Roguecraft, a newly released tower defense game developed for Amiga.

In Evercade’s extensive collection of vintage-style games, each title offers save state functionality and customizable button mapping. For input customization, you can modify controls either globally in the home menu settings or individually per game. Additionally, you have the flexibility to choose between three display ratios: Original, Full Screen, and Pixel Perfect. To heighten the retro feel, you can add scanlines mimicking a CRT TV’s appearance, and various bezel designs are available for games that don’t entirely fill the screen.

Blaze Entertainment’s subsidiary Hyper Mega Tech has rolled out a series of compact devices dubbed “Super Pocket” as a portable alternative to the Evercade. These handhelds are designed vertically, reminiscent of the Game Boy Pocket, and sport a form factor that echoes this classic design. The Super Pocket features a 2.8-inch IPS screen with an aspect ratio of 320 x 240. Each model comes preloaded with games from a particular publisher, and they’re compatible with the Evercade cartridge library. New additions to the lineup, Neo Geo and Data East, became available in June for $70 each. Meanwhile, Amazon stocks the original Super Pockets (Capcom and Taito) at $60 apiece.

The Evercade Alpha Bartop Arcade, a compact home arcade cabinet, boasts an 8-inch screen, two game cartridge slots, a high-quality arcade joystick, and six buttons. Similar to the VS-R, it accommodates both wired and wireless controllers, including the 8BitDo USB Adapter 2, although it only allows for play by two players instead of four. If you’re looking for a space-saving home arcade solution, I strongly suggest the Evercade Alpha. It stands out as my preferred home arcade machine due to its premium construction and extensive cartridge library flexibility. The forthcoming Taito Bartop Arcade is themed around Bubble Bobble, featuring 10 preinstalled games.
