Encryption company loses key to reveal election results
The election for new leaders at the cryptography company was cancelled because a crucial key needed to access the results was permanently lost by a staff member.
In a recent statement, the organization explained that one of the three people responsible for safeguarding funds has lost their private key. This was an unintentional error, but it means they are unable to access their portion of the encrypted funds.
Okay, so basically, our system, Helios, just choked on trying to decrypt the election results. It’s a total roadblock – we can’t get the final tally, and even if we did, we can’t confirm if it’s legit. It’s a complete dead end for me as a player trying to see how things turned out.
The company announced a new election will take place between November 21st and December 20th. They are also implementing measures to prevent a recurrence of the issues that led to this new election.
