Elon Musk is once again publicly backing the technology his companies are creating. He recently announced plans for an AI-powered game, a project he’s enthusiastic about despite skepticism from gamers who believe AI can’t replicate human creativity. Even a director at Larian Studios criticized the idea, suggesting it felt like a quick attempt to make money. This follows Musk’s claim in October that his new AI, Grokopedia, was superior to Wikipedia – a statement that was quickly challenged. His latest announcement on X has sparked another round of discussion.
Elon Musk’s vision of a wealthy future for us all
During the 2025 U.S.-Saudi Investment Forum, Elon Musk discussed the latest advancements in AI, robotics, and the future of technology. He highlighted Tesla’s humanoid robots, their plans for self-driving robotaxis, and his broader ideas about automation. A clip of him stating that “the only real path to widespread wealth is through AI and robotics” circulated online, and Musk subsequently shared it himself.
It’s highly probable that advancements in AI and robotics will lead to widespread wealth, potentially making everyone richer than the wealthiest individuals today.
This means people will have access to incredible advancements, ranging from healthcare that goes beyond current limits to entertainment far more enjoyable than anything we have now.
His post didn’t sit well with everyone and soon attracted a lot of sarcastic responses. People compared his optimistic claims about AI to past promises that didn’t pan out, with comments like, “AI will make everyone wealthy, just like the internet made everyone smart,” and others quipping, “It’s the same old story – promises of cheap, limitless energy, just like with atomic power.”
Another clip shows him expanding on his vision for the future and how people might become wealthier. He believes that if everyone had robots to help around the house, everyday tasks would be easy, and people wouldn’t need to work. However, he doesn’t acknowledge that most people likely couldn’t afford these robots. It all seems like an idealistic vision, especially when Musk suggests this future could arrive in just 10 to 20 years.

Artificial intelligence is a really exciting field, but there’s growing worry that as AI starts to take over jobs traditionally done by people – and even creative tasks – it might be developing in a harmful way. More and more people are questioning where AI is headed, and even the CEO of Google has suggested it could be a temporary trend, like a bubble that’s about to pop.
