FromSoftware, the creators of Elden Ring, announced that they’re releasing downloadable content (DLC) for the popular action RPG. Called ‘The Forsaken Hollows,’ the DLC will be available on December 4th, and they’ve confirmed it will be released by March 2026. The announcement was made during last night’s PlayStation State of Play event.
ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN The Forsaken Hollows | Official Gameplay Reveal Trailer
The new DLC for PlayStation introduces the “Great Hollow,” a massive chasm that has appeared deep within Limveld, causing the ground to shake. This area is filled with old ruins, dangerous crystals that drain your life, and plenty of enemies eager to defeat you.
As you continue your journey as a Nightfarer – whether you’re a veteran player or trying one of the two new classes added in the DLC – you’ll encounter challenging bosses like the Dancing Lion from Shadow of the Erdtree and Artorias, the knight who fought in the abyss from Dark Souls. Luckily, you can choose a new playstyle to help you succeed! Become the Scholar, a Nightfarer who relies on intelligence and knowledge, or the Undertaker, a powerful abbess with strong faith and a comforting presence.
FromSoftware explains that the game’s world is shaped by a long war against a darkness called ‘the Night.’ Every conflict left behind lingering spirits and monstrous beings. Players, known as Nightfarers, are tasked with ending this conflict once and for all. The story also revolves around a powerful enemy called the Dreglord, who must be defeated. It’s likely the Dreglord is the roaring creature seen at the end of the trailer, and the studio is keeping details about both the Dreglord and the new angelic characters a secret for now.
If you visit Artorias on December 4th, he’ll gladly explain everything to you.
