Elden Ring Nightreign Teases Plans for DLC Launch

Kadokawa recently shared how well Elden Ring Nightreign is doing financially during their earnings report, and also gave a hint about when we can expect new downloadable content. Elden Ring Nightreign surprised many players by changing things up from the usual action RPG format. It now includes roguelike features, letting up to three players team up and explore a map that changes with each playthrough, all while trying to defeat the final boss by the third day.

Since its release in May, Elden Ring Nightreign has been regularly updated with bug fixes, improvements, and new content. The developers at FROM Software listened to player feedback and added a Duo Expeditions mode, which is specifically balanced for two players instead of the original three. But these updates were just the beginning – Kadokawa, FROM Software’s parent company, has announced that premium DLC for Nightreign is expected to launch soon.

Elden Ring Nightreign Premium DLC Launch Window

During a recent financial update covering the six months leading up to September 30, 2025, Kadokawa announced that Elden Ring Nightreign has been very successful, surpassing their original projections. While they didn’t share exact sales figures, Kadokawa emphasized the game’s strong performance and their plans to continue expanding the Elden Ring franchise. With a special “Tarnished Edition” of Elden Ring in development for the upcoming Switch 2 console, they appear confident in reaching their goals.

Kadokawa’s recent report contained more than one major announcement, including possible launch timing for the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. The financial documents confirmed that FROM Software is actively developing Shadow of the Erdtree, alongside ongoing work on The Duskbloods for the Nintendo Switch 2. While specific details were limited, the report suggests a release is planned before the end of the 2025 fiscal year – meaning by March 2026.

Although major content updates are still on the way, FROM Software has been keeping Elden Ring engaging with new in-game events and ways to play. Last September, they released “Deep of Night,” a challenging game mode featuring random Nightlords and better rewards. They’ve since improved the experience with updates that let players customize the difficulty and protect their rank if they lose, encouraging experimentation with different character builds without the fear of losing progress.
