As a gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the news about Dead Space 4 being rejected by EA leaves me both disheartened and intrigued. Having grown up on the original Dead Space trilogy, the thought of a potential fourth installment was a beacon of hope in these dark times for single-player narrative-driven games.

The Dead Space Remake proved to be a triumph for Electronic Arts and Motive Studio, showcasing exceptional visuals and sound. Upon its launch, it received positive feedback, sparking discussions about the future of the series and the developer. Many fans are now speculating whether a Dead Space 2 Remake or another sequel could be in the works.

It could be reasonable for either a remake of Dead Space 2 or Dead Space 4 to be the next step for EA and Motive Studios, but it’s uncertain if this will happen due to the underperformance of the Dead Space Remake as per EA’s commercial expectations. Despite no official word on the future of the series, creator Glen Schofield hinted at pitching ideas for Dead Space 4 in a recent interview.

In late November 2024, an interview with Dan Allen Gaming featuring Schofield became popular online. During this interview, Schofield was accompanied by Bret Robbins and Christopher Stone, who had collaborated on the original Dead Space game with him. The group delved deeply into the creation process of Dead Space, sharing challenges they encountered along the way. Remarkably, Schofield disclosed that they had proposed Dead Space 4 to EA.

“I tell you what, a group of us gamers here tried pitching an idea for Dead Space 4 this year, but unfortunately, Electronic Arts didn’t seem too keen on it. Michael Schofield confirmed that we put forward the suggestion, and let me tell you, my gaming buddies and I really wanted to make it happen. But alas, EA said ‘no.’ “

To be honest, we didn’t push the issue too far; they politely declined, expressing thanks but indicating they aren’t ready at this time. I guess everyone has their priorities and schedules, and they know who to approach if needed. We valued their perspective and respected it, understanding their business dynamics and shipping demands.” – Schofield

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m sharing some dreams my team has been nurturing about a potential Dead Space 4 game. However, considering the cautious nature of the gaming industry right now, our ideas might not be welcomed just yet. But hey, you never know! Fingers crossed that one day we can bring this project to life. It’s something we’d all be thrilled to work on.
