EA Not Making F1 26, F1 25 To Receive 2026 Expansion

The next installment in the F1 series will be different. Instead of a brand new game, F1 26 will be a large expansion for the existing F1 25. Codemasters, the team behind the games, is already confirmed to be working on F1 27. This change raises questions about the future of the F1 series and whether EA might approach development of its other sports titles differently as well.

EA F1 2026 Expansion Confirmed F1 25, New F1 27 Details Emerge

EA Sports has announced that the complete 2026 Formula One season will be added to F1 25 as a downloadable expansion, rather than being released as a new game. This means fans won’t see a separate, brand-new F1 game next year; instead, they’ll be able to purchase the 2026 season as a premium update to the existing F1 25 game.

This update includes all the latest content for the 2026 season, featuring new cars, rules, teams, and drivers. We haven’t announced the price of the update just yet.

EA Sports is planning to release its next Formula 1 game, F1 27, in 2027. Codemasters, the game’s developer, is using the additional time to build a more expansive and improved game.
