EA FC 25 Fans Furious Over ‘Quit Punishment’ That Misses the Mark

After much wait, EA Football Club (EA FC) has decided to penalize players who exit during a draw game, but this action is accompanied by certain conditions that often lead to annoyance.

Due to the latest gameplay update by EA, it was disclosed that approximately two million FIFA Ultimate Team players resumed using their accounts following a break from the game.

Fans hailed Title Update 8 as “the finest update ever” in FIFA history due to its resolution of long-awaited problems. Following this, EA introduced Title Update 9, which enabled users to perform two Evolution upgrades simultaneously and tightened the rules against abandoning Ultimate Team matches prematurely.

In saying that, players criticized the update for not addressing the issue altogether.

EA FC 25 players disappointed by match outcome update

In Ultimate Team Division Rivals and Champions, as well as Ultimate Team Division Rivals co-op, you can secure a victory if your opponent disconnects during a tied game after Title Update 9. But there are certain prerequisites:

1. The match must be tied at the time of disconnection.
2. The game must not have been paused or forfeited by either player prior to the opponent’s disconnection.

  • 45 or more minutes have passed.
  • The quitting player concedes a penalty kick.
  • The quitting player has received a red card.

Additionally, players are limited to earning a maximum of five victories under these specific conditions within a 24-hour period, and this limit resets every day.

For the sake of upholding a secure and enjoyable setting, devoid of any unscrupulous activities, EA justified their limitations.

The development team clarified that their aim is to tackle various scenarios for resolving drawn games, such as disconnections, and they understand that this change may not please everyone.

While we realize that this adjustment won’t address every instance of community discontent, our goal is to move forward and make improvements in this area. The insights we gain from implementing this first change will guide us as we consider possible future modifications.

In this update, there’s no provision for situations where players disconnect or shut down their consoles; many players view this as a significant overlook.

Translation of “Draw Quit” to easy-to-understand language: “Quitting a Match Results in a Win”

• ✅ Opponent must click leave match = If your opponent quits the game, you will win.
• ✅ Red card quit = Win = If the opponent receives a red card and leaves the match, it counts as a win for you.
• ✅ Penalty Quit = Win = If the opponent concedes a penalty and quits during the execution of the penalty kick, it is considered a win for you.
• ✅ 45 mins have passed quit = Win = If the match reaches 45 minutes without any further action (i.e., no goals scored), the player who remains in the game will be declared the winner.
• ✅ Max 5 draw quit wins per 24 hours = You can only claim a win by your opponent quitting the match up to five times within a 24-hour period. Any additional wins beyond that limit will not be recognized.
• ❌ Opponent dashboards = No win = Viewing your opponent’s dashboard does not result in any advantage or win for you.

One player responded, “It’s useless. Wow, they even choked on this one.”

“It serves no purpose because players don’t stop playing when it’s a draw and they can’t pause during penalties. The only instance where it might make a difference is if a player gets a red card, but the problematic community will simply quit instead.
