The latest season of Dancing with the Stars just finished, with Robert Irwin and his partner Witney Carson taking home the win! While we won’t likely see another season until 2026, people are already guessing which celebrities – actors, reality stars, athletes, and social media influencers – might compete next. Former dancer Hayley Erbert Hough has some ideas, and although Chris Hemsworth would be a great contestant, she’s particularly hoping to see one singer join the show.
Hayley Erbert Hough is very familiar with Dancing with the Stars. She’s been a part of the show’s dance ensemble for many seasons, and she’s married to Derek Hough, who started as a pro dancer and is now a judge. She’s been hoping for a particular singer to compete with one of the professional dancers for a while now, and recently told Woman’s World about her wish.
From the very beginning, I’ve hoped to have Celine Dion join the show. She’s a fantastic performer who loves to dance and has a wonderful personality, and I believe she’d be a huge success.
That’s a great idea! While Celine Dion is famous for her incredible singing and songs like “The Power of Love” and “My Heart Will Go On,” she’s also very passionate about dance.

Celine Dion, the famous Canadian singer, revealed in December 2022 that she has Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare condition that causes muscle spasms and makes it hard to move and sing. Although the diagnosis led her to cancel many performances, she made a moving return to the stage at the opening of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
It’s unclear whether Celine Dion’s stiff muscles or other symptoms related to Stiff Person Syndrome would prevent her from appearing on Dancing With the Stars, but many people are likely wondering about it.
Hayley Erbert Hough mentioned another possibility besides just one person. She also thought a particular actor from Marvel would be a great fit for the show, as she explained:
I used to always guess Chris Hemsworth, but then I learned he was actually on Dancing with the Stars Australia.
Dang it, Australia! I guess that makes sense, with Chris Hemsworth being Australian and all.

Chris Hemsworth, known for playing Thor, was a contestant on Dancing with the Stars in Australia back in 2006. He danced with Abbey Ross and lasted until the seventh week of the competition. After two decades, I believe it’s been long enough for him to try the American version of the show.
It’s still up in the air who will be the next Dancing with the Stars host, as fans have several favorites. Alongside the frontrunner, many are hoping to see Simu Liu join Britt Stewart as a host. There’s also been a lot of buzz about Terri Irwin, after both her children, Bindi and Robert, won the Mirrorball Trophy. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens!
