Shiromofu Factory has launched Dungeon Antiqua 2 on Steam for PC. It’s currently available for $7.64 – a 15% discount that lasts until January 14th.
This game is the follow-up to Dungeon Antiqua, which came out in October 2024. The original game had a retro style reminiscent of the NES, but this sequel updates that look and sound to match the SNES. Like the first game, it’s packaged as a file that can be played on handheld consoles.
Official screenshots and details for Dungeon Antiqua are provided below. The game is offered in both Japanese and English languages.

Many years passed, and generations came and went, but she faithfully continued her work. Finally, the long silence ended. Old and tired, she mustered her remaining energy and took flight, searching for the destined hero.
About Dungeon Antiqua 2
Dungeon Antiqua 2 is a classic 2D RPG where you’ll slash your way through dungeons. It features charming pixel art and sound inspired by the SNES era. Get ready for a retro adventure that combines careful exploration with a deep and customizable character system.
§ Exploration
In Dungeon Antiqua 2, players will venture through six dungeons. A special “vision” system determines how well you can see corridors and enemies. Battles are handled through a unique symbol encounter system, giving you the choice to sneak past enemies or attack first. Your skill and choices will determine your path forward!
§ System
The game now features ten playable classes, including the eight from the previous version, plus two new ones: the Monk and the Archer. You’ll earn skill points by winning battles, which unlock unique abilities for each class. Best of all, switching between classes doesn’t reset your level, so you can try them all out and build the perfect team!
At the beginning of the game, you can choose from five different jobs. As you play and make progress, five more job types will unlock.
§ Concept
Why not revisit the classic days of cartridge gaming? These games often traded lengthy stories for straightforward dialogue and simple text, letting your imagination fill in the gaps and create a unique adventure.
§ Playtime
For a first playthrough, we estimate a playtime of approximately 10-12 hours.
Dungeon Antiqua
This game is set centuries after the events of Dungeon Antiqua. You might even meet characters you remember from the first game!
Transferring Save Data from the Demo to the Full Version
Save data from the demo can be transferred to the full version.
Okay, so here’s the deal: on PC (Windows or Mac), the game saves are all in one place. That’s awesome because if you played the demo and then bought the full game, you can just pick up right where you stopped! No need to start over, which is a huge relief.
If you’re playing on a device like the Steam Deck, you’ll need to transfer your save data after launching the game. First, go to the menu in the top-right corner and choose “Inherit Data” then “Backup Save data”. This will give you a 6-digit code after you’ve finished the trial version. When you start the full game, select “Inherit Data” > “Restore Save data” and enter that code to continue with your saved progress.
Playing on Handheld Devices
The download includes a file that can be played on some handheld consoles – check the official website for a list of compatible devices. To install, go to Settings > Manage > Browse Local Files on your device and find dungeon-antiqua2.pyxapp. Then, transfer that file to your device.
