Dune 3 unveils first character posters of Timothée Chalamet and more with trailer release date

The first look at the trailer for Dune 3 will be shown live on TikTok tomorrow at 9 am Pacific Time / 12 pm Eastern Time.

The movie has released its first character posters, showcasing the cast including Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Anya Taylor-Joy, Rebecca Ferguson, Jason Momoa, Javier Bardem, Florence Pugh, and Isaach de Bankolé, who plays the new character Bashar of the Ninth Legion Farok. The posters feature both familiar faces and characters joining the story for the first time.

Timothée Chalamet gave fans their first glimpse of Dune: Part Three by posting a picture of his character, Paul Atreides, showing new scars and a mask. The movie is set to come out on December 18, 2026, and will compete with the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday film. Sources say the story will pick up more than ten years after the end of Dune: Part Two.

Previously, Paul Atreides allied himself with the Fremen people, found love with Chani, and overcame his enemies, the Harkonnens. The story concluded with Paul taking control and starting a massive religious war against the ruling noble families.

Denis Villeneuve is directing the third Dune movie, which is based on Frank Herbert’s novel, Dune Messiah. The film features Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Jason Momoa, Josh Brolin, and Robert Pattinson in the cast.

Director Denis Villeneuve is planning a significant departure for the next Dune film, similar to how Frank Herbert shook things up in Dune: Messiah. The story will pick up 12 years after the events of Dune: Part Two, and Timothée Chalamet hints at a notable change for his character (according to Deadline).

Filming for the movie started in July 2025 and finished in November. The book describes the story as a continuation of Paul Atreides’ journey, the man widely known and feared as Muad’Dib.
