Duffer Brothers Series ‘The Boroughs’ Adds Six to Cast, Including Ed Begley Jr., Jane Kaczmarek, Rafael Casal

As a long-time fan of supernatural dramas and classic 80s cinema, I must say that the upcoming Netflix series “The Boroughs” has me absolutely thrilled! The addition of such esteemed actors as Rafael Casal, Dee Wallace, Ed Begley Jr., Jane Kaczmarek, Eric Edelstein, and Mousa Hussein Kraish to an already stellar cast featuring the likes of Alfred Molina, Geena Davis, Alfre Woodard, Denis O’Hare, Clarke Peters, and Bill Pullman is nothing short of a dream come true for me.

The upcoming Netflix supernatural drama “The Boroughs” has added six new cast members.

Actors Rafael Casal (known for “Loki” and “Blindspotting”), Dee Wallace (“E.T.” and “Cujo”), Ed Begley Jr. (“Young Sheldon” and “Better Call Saul”), Jane Kaczmarek (“Malcolm in the Middle” and “The Changeling”), Eric Edelstein (“Twin Peaks: The Return” and “Minx”), and Mousa Hussein Kraish (“American Gods” and “Your Lucky Day”) have all signed on for the series. This show is created by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews, with the Duffer brothers serving as executive producers.

In addition to previously announced actors like Alfred Molina, Geena Davis, Alfre Woodard, Denis O’Hare, Clarke Peters, and Bill Pullman, they will also be part of the star-studded cast for the upcoming eight-episode series. This series received a greenlight from the streaming platform back in April 2023.

Set within a tranquil retirement community that hides a secret danger, a motley crew of unsuspecting champions unite to prevent an ominous extraterrestrial menace from seizing what they all cherish – their remaining time.

Casal is represented by Creative Artists Agency (CAA), Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and Jackoway Tyerman Wertheimer Austen Mandelbaum Morris & Klein. Wallace is managed by Amsel Eisenstadt Frazier & Hinojosa Talent Agency and Kramer Management. Begley is represented by Innovative Artists and Constellation Media Group. Kaczmarek is under the management of Paradigm. Edelstein is represented by TalentWorks, 3 Arts Entertainment, and Lichter Grossman. Kraish is represented by Artists & Representatives, Kaplan Stahler Agency, and Venture Entertainment Partners.

On “The Boroughs”, Addis and Matthews not only created the series but also take on the roles of executive producers and showrunners. The Duffers are involved as executive producers too, working alongside Hilary Leavitt under their Upside Down Pictures label, which is under a deal with Netflix for overall production. Ben Taylor will direct several episodes and also serve as an executive producer.

As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the talented Duffers are gearing up for the fifth and concluding season of “Stranger Things.” Additionally, some exciting news surfaced in July – they’re set to serve as executive producers for the chilling Netflix horror series, titled “Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen,” penned by Haley Z. Boston. Can’t wait to see what terrors lie ahead!
