Dual Destiny will finally change the worst thing about Pokemon Go

As a long-time trainer who’s been through countless battles and Pokemon evolutions since the good old days of Red and Blue, let me tell you, this new Pokedex update is like finding a Shiny Charizard in the wild! Finally, after eight years of navigating that chaotic mess we call the Pokedex, Niantic decided to listen to our cries for help.

As a dedicated gamer of Pokemon Go, I’m thrilled to share that we’ve been given a sneak peek into the upcoming season – Dual Destiny! Sure, there are some intriguing new Pokemon joining our adventure, but it’s the user interface that truly steals the show for me. It looks like an exciting upgrade that will make my gaming experience even smoother and more immersive!

Since Pokemon Go became as ubiquitous as a Rotom controlling a microwave, its user interface hasn’t seen much change. Sure, the main screen design has been tweaked and fortunately updated, but essential features like the inventory, store, battles, and Pokedex have remained largely unchanged, making them around eight years old (can’t help but feel a bit older now, can you).

However, that’s all about to change thanks to the upcoming Duel Destiny season, which seems to be finally changing one of the worst aspects of Pokemon Go – the Pokedex.

An onixpected change

As I watched the season reveal trailer unfold, it felt like a treasure trove of surprises was unveiled just for me. There was the first appearance of Sinstea and Poltegeist, fresh additions to the Wild Pokemon roster, not to mention a brand-new rotation of them lurking in the grass. And let’s not forget about those 2km eggs – it seems like I’ll be catching at least 100 of them whether I want to or not!

Instead of the cluttered version currently in use, a quick peek at about 18 seconds shows a potential new design for the Pokedex, which arranges Pokémon by their regions from the start, offering a more organized and streamlined look.

🤩 Unveil the thrilling experiences awaiting you in #PokemonGO’s Dual Destiny event! This adventure runs from December 3, 10:00 a.m., until March 4, 10:00 a.m., local time. Let’s journey together and see what hidden secrets this event holds!

This is an entirely unexpected change for the game but is one fans are already adoring, with many taking to social media to share their hype for the new Pokedex style.

It’s understandable for them to be excited. Instead of the existing design with a disorganized list of small avatars grouped by region, we now have the ability to easily switch between Shinies, Event Pokemon, and other categories while also sorting by regions, examining medals, and clearly seeing how many ‘Mons you’ve captured.

A revised version with a streamlined layout and improved organization is certain to be a refreshing upgrade for those accustomed to the present cluttered Pokedex design.

The extent to which features are included in Duel Destiny upon its release remains unclear, as the trailer doesn’t clarify if the shown gameplay footage is definitive. Nevertheless, given the effort required to navigate various regions searching for missing Pokemon or necessary evolutions, any update to the Pokedex would be appreciated.
